What do you want to know about marketing?

Many of you have heard me say I’m a walking contradiction … corporate gal by day, and hippy chick by night. And that’s true.

While my passion is working in my coaching practice, I’ve also been working in the marketing, communication and media field now for, or let’s say around …. ummmm …. 27 years now (now I’m really showing my age).

With more than 20 years experience providing high-level strategic communications planning, project management and evaluation services for government and the private sector, I specialise in designing and implementing high-profile marketing communication strategies, managing major public education campaigns, stakeholder engagement, issues management, public relations and branding.

For the past 10 years I have been employed in communications positions in several Australian Government at a senior level. Prior to this I worked in various marketing and communication roles for blue-chip companies. For years I have been providing advice to spiritual and wellness practitioners on how to promote and build their practice or business. Two years ago, I wrote and delivered a nationally accredited Certificate IV qualification in marketing for small business.

Most recently, I have been the marketing and business mentor for internationally acclaimed healer and author Denise Linn’s Gateway Dreaming Professional Certification program. I’ve provided tips and hints from how to set up a business blog, to social media etiquette, and becoming your own brand.

I’ve taken the next couple of weeks off work to concentrate on finishing my first eBook and coaching program on marketing for spiritual and wellness practitioners. And to make sure I cover everything you want to know, just leave a message in the comments and let me know what topics you’d like to see me cover.

Blissings,

Michelle

  1. Hi Michelle!
Love what you are doing! Here are my questions…which all relate as I am in a major transition, divorce, new career, revamping existing stuff (the create sanctuary business) and getting it all going again.
    1. I went back and forth as to how to get my name or myself out there. Was I to do an all inclusive web site with my name, Diane Krebs, or what I to have individual web sites with different names. Just a few day ago I concluded that I am going to have a web site that integrates my architectural training in a different way, as a consultant (what I’ll be working on this month and figuring out as I do not want to go back to transitional architecture as I am leaving a firm that my husband and I have together, actually he gets the business, I get the house…to be worked out, hopefully by the end of the year). A separate web site for Create Sanctuary that will include Soul Coaching. I’ll simplify it from where it is now. And then a third web site with my pottery that will cater to different groups of people, including soul coaches.

In doing this I feel that I will be able to link them altogether and realize that it should be simple using WordPress.

Any comments? Of course, it isn’t a one size fits all…and for others having one web site for everything would work, but I just realized that with different groups of people I associate with I can then pitch different things…like you, I am a professional, with a woo woo side, but am learning that more people are more open, although not as many as I wish.

    2. How do I get more people interested in Soul Coaching?! And want to pay for it? How does that mystic of anything spiritual must be free get broken? This is an ongoing issue. Was just wondering if you found the magic words or phrase?

    3. Image. Being a bit of a tomboy sort that was always an issue for me, but I have now come to grips with who I am is just fine and it doesn’t matter what others think.

    4. Last thought…how to market soul coaching to parents for their kids? I volunteered teaching art one year at my son’s school while he was in 4th grade and had a blast. This was prior to my soul coaching seminar with Denise. Since then I have had this nagging thought about getting back out there to work with kids, also to introduce them to the world of creativity and basic art. I go back and forth on if it should be elementary school children or teenagers, more specifically teenage girls? Not sure of that one yet, just wondered if you had any insights.

Okay, thank you for reading…that was a fun brain unloading! Looking forward to your debut! Best wishes, Diane Krebs Carhuff, Tucson, Arizona

  2. How do you identify you target market?
How do you calculate your share of that target market?
How do you find the fight person to work with you to share your vision but also be bold enough and have the confidence to share their expertise and tell you what you need sometimes?
How do I market successfully on a limited budget?
I have a very small network not into what I do, how do I build from this?
I want to do the work not work on the business but I seem to hear the opposite that I need to work on the business not in the business?
What exactly would a marketing strategy entail and where do I begin?
How is marketing different from advertising?
I know sales are important but how do I get people to commit and pay for the service?
How can I calculate where my money is best spent especially in the beginning when thing are tight?
How much time should I spend on markerting versus sales versus doing my business? I have all the administrative functions too…
What do you think about hosting events to get people interested?
If you offer a number of services should you focus on one main
    one?
How do I market to different groups on Facebook twitter and linked in but still have the same message?
Help please!!!! Are you for hire?
